This is was our City Hall. A historic building, donated to the town by Colonel Clarence Jackson while he was in a Civil War Confederate prison. [link]

It is an HDR made from 3 exposures.

Again, I'm biased for my photo. Even though they have an picture of the building from the air on the town website, mine looks better :P

In the left background can be see our old police station. Located in the old carriage house.

edit: 30-April-2008 • I took the suggestion and adjusted the vertical lines in the photo. A small change, but a big improvement.

edit: 08-May-2011 • I changed the title from "city hall" because the building has been donated to the [Berwick Historical Society]</b>. City Hall and the Police Barracks are now in a different building. I was also contacted by [The Columbia County Historical & Genealogical Society]. They would like to use my photo in a display. I definitely feel honored to even be asked. I will surely give them permission and can't wait to see it on display.

The stonework is a bit odd for sucha structure, but I really am impressed by the early ruskin-esque influence on the rooflines and dormers.

no offense taken. I was just saying that the name ruskin-esque, went right over my head. :)

I have driven past this building several times since moving to Pennsylvania and I have to admit ... I never knew the history on this house.

Nice shot and the HDR work is very nice! I have been trying to work in HDR but I just haven't gotten the hang of it yet.
